Blue Seal Case Study - Sykes House Farm, Wetherby in West Yorkshire
This project was a demonstration kitchen which needed open access/viewing for clients to view different styles of cooking relating to the meats produced on the farm.
The initial contact was made by chef Greg Lewis in April 2022, and we were really excited to be involved in the whole concept of farm to fork. It was great to work with Greg who was really enthusiastic and after a few technical difficulties regarding construction and issues with the ‘living roof’ the kitchen was installed in December 2023.
The demonstration kitchen is sited on farmland inside immaculately converted shipping containers. The preparation work done by the NCE Projects team prior to installation meant everything was very straight forward and the whole project including client liaison was an absolute dream to work on, despite delays due to other trades.
The equipment choice developed, and the attractive Blue Seal Waldorf style was selected including induction hob, chrome plated griddles, Rational iCombi Pro oven and Rational iVario multi-function cooker.
To research and select the technology Greg Lewis the head chef attended live cooking demonstrations after being invited by NCE and the Blue Seal equipment was chosen due to its quality and robustness and also for the aesthetics of the Waldorf series. The Waldorf range of equipment along with the Rational items create a ‘state of the art’ kitchen with quick reacting, energy efficient equipment.
