REPLACE POLYBAGS WITH REUSABLE CONTAINERS
BGL Rieber has launched a campaign to replace polybags for food storage with reusable containers.
Rieber’s Reusable Food Container Management System combines digital CHECK TRACE software with 100% food-safe stainless steel GN reusable containers, used instead of the disposable polybag.
Using tools we are all familiar with – QR codes, smartphones and apps – Rieber’s CHECK TRACE system provides paper-free ‘track and trace’ for the kitchen’s GN pans and delivery boxes. Rieber CHECK TRACE turns a standard GN pan into a sustainable, reusable container that cannot get lost.
The system is ideal for managing deliveries from the central kitchen and for retail takeaway. CHECK TRACE provides the facility to link the customer to the food using contactless or online payment, which removes the need for clumsy deposit systems.
“The environmental savings are substantial and easily quantifiable,” says BGL Rieber MD Gareth Newton.
“The simple common sense of using stainless steel GN containers instead of single-use products appeals to professional caterers. The long-term saving in the cost of disposables, as well as labour savings, reduced handling and efficiency improvements, will more than pay the upfront cost in stocking up with GN pans and trolleys.”
THIS IS THE RIEBER CHECK WEIGH SYSTEM. Automated capture of QR code information means operators can deliver hundreds of meals fast while capturing customer data, time, temperature and food type.
