SKOPE ActiveCore refrigeration added to UK Government-backed Energy Technology List
Hubbard Systems has announced that two SKOPE ActiveCore bottom-mounted glass-door display refrigerators have been added to the UK Government-backed Energy Technology List (ETL), providing independent recognition of their energy-efficient performance.
The SKOPE BME600N-A single-door and BME1200N-A double-door ActiveCore display refrigerators are now listed on the ETL, a scheme backed by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero that helps businesses, specifiers and the public sector identify high-performing, energy-efficient equipment.
Products included on the ETL are independently verified and stringently assessed against defined energy-performance criteria. The scheme states that listed products represent the top 25% of the market for energy efficiency in their class, giving purchasers an impartial benchmark when comparing equipment.
The listing provides further independent recognition of the energy performance built into SKOPE’s ActiveCore platform.
Available through Hubbard Systems in the UK, the BME600N-A is a 559-litre single glass-door display refrigerator consuming 1.60kWh per 24 hours, while the larger BME1200N-A provides 1,030 litres of display capacity with energy consumption of 2.55kWh per 24 hours. Both use natural R290 refrigerant and are designed to operate in ambient temperatures up to 40°C.
Both models are designed for front-of-house merchandising as well as back-of-house refrigerated storage, combining large glass doors, LED illumination and high product visibility with efficient commercial refrigeration technology.
The ETL is designed to give businesses and public-sector organisations access to independently tested information that makes energy-efficient products easier to identify and compare. It currently includes around 8,000 products across a range of energy-saving technologies.
For Hubbard Systems, inclusion of the two ActiveCore models reinforces the importance of considering energy performance alongside more traditional refrigeration specifications such as capacity, dimensions and purchase price.
George Fell, Commercial Director at Hubbard Systems, said:
“Energy efficiency is becoming an increasingly important part of the refrigeration specification process, so having the BME600N-A and BME1200N-A independently recognised through the Energy Technology List is significant for SKOPE and for our customers.
“Operators and equipment dealers are understandably looking more closely at lifetime running costs and environmental performance. The ETL gives buyers an independent reference point rather than asking them simply to rely on manufacturers’ energy-efficiency claims.
“For us, it reinforces what SKOPE ActiveCore has been designed to deliver: high-performance commercial refrigeration with strong energy efficiency, practical servicing and intelligent control.”
Energy performance forms only part of the ActiveCore proposition.
Both the BME600N-A and BME1200N-A feature SKOPE’s bottom-mounted removable refrigeration cartridge, designed to simplify servicing and minimise operational downtime. The cabinets also incorporate SKOPE-connect, providing temperature monitoring and control through the connected refrigeration platform.
Both models are classified M1 for chilled food storage, operating normally between +1°C and +4°C, with temperature settings adjustable up to +15°C through SKOPE-connect.
The combination of independently recognised energy performance, R290 natural refrigerant, intelligent control and service-focused design makes the ActiveCore range particularly suited to hospitality, foodservice, convenience retail and other high-use commercial environments.
SKOPE refrigeration is available throughout the UK from Hubbard Systems, with the company supporting catering equipment dealers and operators with product selection, technical advice, warranty support and nationwide service expertise.
