Hobart’s “Mr. Warewash” Calls Time on Thirty Year Career
Jeff Priest to become new Hobart Product Manager, succeeding the retiring Chris Mansell
Hobart’s warewash product specialist Chris Mansell has called time on an illustrious 30-year career in the industry. Dubbed ‘Mr Warewash’ by colleagues and peers, in tribute to his in-depth knowledge of Hobart’s product lines and wide-ranging expertise in the discipline, Chris now hands the torch to Hobart Technical Sales Executive, Jeff Priest.
Hugely respected by colleagues and industry peers alike, few people in the industry have dedicated more of their lives to pushing innovation in commercial dishwashing, saving customers thousands of pounds each year, than Chris Mansell.
A specialist in sales and product training, Chris moved into warewashing equipment sales in 1993 with Warner Howard, before spending 15 years heading up his own business, ATG Catering and Hygiene Supplies. He joined the ranks at Hobart in 2013 quickly cementing a reputation as the ‘go-to’ for warewashing innovation, technical knowledge and project management.
Chris has been an ever present at ITW central innovation and R&D summits, joining colleagues from around the globe to brainstorm and plot the future of Hobart’s warewashing offer, representing the UK arm of the business while playing a key role in the catering equipment industry’s most successful and progressive innovation pipeline.
Upon retirement, he will now hand over to Jeff Priest who has been with the Peterborough manufacturer for an impressive 16 years and takes on the role with immediate effect.
Hobart Head of Marketing, Insights and Product Management, Ceri Williams, commented: “Chris retires leaving a legacy of innovation and dedication to in-depth product knowledge. Not only a true professional but one of the industry’s nice guys – someone who was always willing to give time and energy to helping and supporting others – not just end customers and dealers but colleagues as well – we shall miss him dearly.”
Hobart Sales Director, Cara Williams, added: “I know Jeff has big shoes to fill, yet I am confident he will do so with aplomb, emulating Chris to amass years of experience in the large warewashing category, working alongside operators to tailor exactly the right solutions for the job in hand. We look forward to seeing him flourish in the role as we move forward into a new era.”
